Ale skończyłem robić jeden projekt, robiłem go pół dnia (Polak potrafi), podczas gdy moi znajomi z grupy robią go 2 miesiące...

Przedmiot: Money & Banking
Temat i wytyczne są proste. Dostaje $500 000 zwrotu z IRS(taki polski urząd skarbowy). Co zrobię z tymi pieniędzmi?

Odpowiedź wydaje się być banalnie prosta... przepije! I projekt zrobiony!! A ci głupi amerykanie męczą się z nim 2 miesiące. Dobra, oto on!
(wywalam z niego swoje nazwisko)

My name is Martin, I moved to the United States from Poland in 2005. Because of the economic situation in Poland, I knew it would be easier to start my career in the U.S. and that there would be more opportunities. After one year I can honestly say that this was a very good move. I learned English, found a good job and received money from the IRS, which will help me plan my future. I?m still a polish citizen on my permanent visa, but after five years I can become an American citizen. The returns from IRS are $500,000 and because I?m risk neutral, my return will be split into a couple of investments.
My first investment will be to purchase a house here on Long Island. Recently, the prices of homes have gone down and this is the perfect opportunity for me to buy. I have decided to buy a twenty year old house worth $350,000 it has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I found one listed with Century 21 Real Estate. My plan is to put down $250,000 and get a Fixed Rate Mortgage ? Balloon in the amount of $100,000 from the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union. I decided to take out this type of loan, because the interest rate will be very low. I have 15 years to pay off the loan, if I run into difficulty; I will refinance the remaining amount of the mortgage. Because I won?t have to pay rent anymore in the amount of $1,500/month I will use this money for my mortgage to pay off the loan. In the future after the house is paid off the profit will be clear. This is a great investment because home prices will definitely start to increase sooner or later, and if I decide to move I?ll sell and make a profit.

Second investment will be a vacation in Poland for two weeks. I miss my friends and family, so I plan to meet with them. This vacation will make me very happy which will make me work more efficient and help me to get a promotion at work. I would also like to purchase a plot in Poland while I am on my vacation. One yard will cost me about 20 dollars. The size of the plot I would like to buy will be 1000 yards (approximately 1000m2). I will buy the plot in Sosnowiec City. After Poland joined the European Union in 2005, it started to get funds for investments, and there are a lot of investments in this city. Analytics say that Poland needs 50 years to get its economy on the same level as Germany or France. After 50 years I?ll probably retire, so I have to make a decision to either stay in United States or go back to Poland. If I decide to stay, I?ll keep my house and sell the plot in Sosnowiec City for a big profit. Otherwise I?ll sell my house in U.S. and move back to Poland. The money from the sale of the old house will definitely be enough to build a house on my plot in Poland. Let?s compare prices of the houses in U.S. and Poland.
For the same house I have to pay:
- Price in U.S. $ 350,000
- Price in Poland $ 50,000

Even if these prices vary a little I should still make a profit. These two investments, in my opinion, are more risk averse than risk loving and because I?m young I have decided to take some risks.

I also want to buy 5000 shares of Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) through Vanguard. Microsoft is one of the biggest companies in the world. I feel my chances of loosing this money are very low. I plan to buy the shares in the middle of November. The reason for this is one year ago Xbox Team which is a part of Microsoft released next-generation console named ?Xbox 360?. They lost $1.26 billion on this premiere and now in November Sony will release Playstation 3, and Nintendo ?Wii?. The war on the gaming market begins, and I feel that the price of Microsoft shares should go down and this will be a perfect time to invest in their stock. Even
if Microsoft looses this war, I do not feel this is a risk, because in the beginning of 2007, a new operating system called ?Windows Vista? and ?Microsoft Office? will be released. Microsoft will make another ton of money on these two programs. Also they are planning to compete with Apple?s Ipod and release their own player called ?Microsoft Zune?. As we can see it?s not just a software company anymore. Microsoft is trying to invest as much money as they can, to attract new clients and make more money. All of these losses they are experiencing today are made to avoid taxes. The economic condition of the company is just great, so their shares will definitely go up if not in 2007, than in 2008.
Microsoft history:
I just want to show graph from the last 10 years.

(tu jest wykres wyników M$ z przeciągu ostatnich lat. Jak ktoś chce to zobaczyć, to zapraszam na http://cnn.com)

In the past 5 years the company has been in a very stable situation. Of course because of the 9/11 prices went down, but this decrease happened not only to Microsoft but to many companies. Windows Xp was released in the October 2001 at that time the market went down, but as we can see, prices of the shares went up anyway. So I predict that the same thing will happen this time.

(tu jest wykres wyników M$ z przeciągu 10 dni. Jak ktoś chce to zobaczyć, to zapraszam na http://cnn.com)

This graph shows the last ten days, shares have been going down, and if they continue to go down again this will be the perfect time to buy them.
Since I will be buying these shares through Vanguard, I would also like to purchase 3 Certificate of Deposits. The investment rate for this one is 5.20% and I plan to invest $50,000. After three month I should get a profit of $2,600, which I?ll probably use for another investment.
In recapitulate I?ve invested:

House in U.S. : $250,000
Plot in Poland : $20,000
Microsoft shares: $150,000
CD's: $50,000
Total: $470,000

So, I still have $30,000. I?ll give my parents $20,000 and my sister $10,000. It?s not equal, because my parents who live in the U.S. will get 2 times more, it?s because $10,000 in Poland is worth 3 times more than in U.S. Hopefully my sister will make some investment in shares or CD?s not only in dresses and cosmetics.
